Relax: If your concern is frown lines, crow's-feet or horizontal forehead lines, then Botox is the best product for you. Botox has been used therapeutically for over twenty years to treat a variety of medical conditions. Approved by the FDA to treat vertical lines between the eyebrows, Botox is also used for horizontal forehead lines and crow's-feet. Frown lines and wrinkles are caused by overactive facial muscles. Botox blocks the facial muscles from contracting by relaxing them. Relaxing these muscles keeps the furrows from deepening, giving you a rested and more youthful appearance. No anesthesia is required. The entire procedure takes about ten minutes with no downtime and discomfort is minimal and brief. Tenderness, swelling, bleeding or bruising may be experienced with injection. You can expect to see results in five to seven days, and results can last three to four months.

Refill: If laugh lines around the mouth or vertical lines around the lips are what's bothering you, then Dermal fillers are the best products. Dermal fillers are also used to make the lips fuller, build up the cheekbones and fill in the lower eyelid area to improve the "hollow" look.

Which Dermal Filler is Best for You?

Juvederm is the best product to soften the vertical lip lines, fill in the lips, and to improve the "sunken" look of the lower eyelids. Juvederm is a soft injectable gel to smooth out wrinkles and facial folds to reverse the signs of aging. Jevederm is made from hyaluronic acid, which is a natural complex sugar found in all living cells and is one of the major components of the skin's connective tissue along with collagen and elastin. Adding structure and volume underneath and bringing sunken skin back up to the surface using Juvederm injections can correct the appearance of winkles and facial folds. Results are immediate and can last up to eight months for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Some temporary redness, bleeding, swelling, tenderness or bruising may be experienced at the treatment site.

For deeper more severe lines or folds and to build up the cheekbones, or plump up the hands Radiesse is recommended. Radiesse is a natural cosmetic tissue filler, FDA approved to safely correct moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles, including nasolabial folds (smile lines from the nose to the mouth). Radiesse also stimulates collagen growth to provide longer lasting results. Radiesse is made of calcium hydroxyl-apatite, calcium-based microspheres suspended in gel. When Radiesse is injected below the skin's surface, it forms a "scaffold" to support and stimulate the growth of your own collagen to replenish lost facial volume and rebuild your skin's foundation to restore your youthful look. Results are immediate and can last a year or more. Swelling, bruising or tenderness at the injection site can occur, but these conditions typically are resolved on their own.

If you're unsure that tissue fillers are right for you or if you're on a tight budget and want a quick fix for a specific event or photo shoot, then try Prevelle Silk. Prevelle Silk is a hyaluronic acid that also contains lidocaine, a common local anesthetic, to increase your comfort during the facial filler procedure. Prevelle Silk can last up to 3 months, so there is less commitment time if you want a short-term preview of the results. Results are immediate, and you may experience temporary injection site reactions such as swelling, pain/tenderness, and redness, and although rare, lumps/bumps may occur. These symptoms are typically mild and in most cases resolve within 7 days.

Skin Peels:

TCA is the most common medium peel offered to improve color, freshness, texture, skin tone, and fine wrinkles. It will also improve superficial discoloration, such as age spots. It may improve blotches and can sometimes improve dark circles under your eyes. A TCA peel is performed as an office procedure and requires 15-60 minutes. There is no discomfort following the procedure and no pain medication is required. TCA chemical peels will last six months to two years.
