Brow/Forehead Lift Orange County
A Brow/Forehead Lift can be performed as a single procedure, or be combined with other facial cosmetic surgery procedures like a Face Lift or Eyelid Lift for more comprehensive improvements. A Brow/Forehead Lift is a procedure to improve low placement or sagging of the brow, the facial region from the eye brows to top of the forehead at the hair line. In some patients, repeated facial expressions, specifically the unconscious raising of the brow repeatedly over time can cause the forehead skin to sag, as can the natural aging process. The goal of this procedure is to reposition the forehead and brow line to a more youthful position and correct sagging of the eyebrows and upper portion of the face. What does a Brow/Forehead Lift correct?
Our expressions often are visible signs of how we feel. When we are angry we may frown, created a furrowed forehead or brow. A low sagging brow may make us appear sad or tired, even when we are not! Unfortunately, for some people these characteristics can become permanent, either as a result of over active muscles in the forehead or just by heredity. A brow/forehead lift can:
- Reduce the furrows in your brow and forehad creating a softer, relaxed facial appearance.
- Minimize the creases that develop in the forehead and frown lines between the eye brows.
- Reposition a low or sagging brow that may be causing hooding on the upper eye lids.
- Raise the brow to a more alert and youthful position.
I am interested in having eye lid surgery, why was a brow/forehead lift also recommended?
A Brow/Forehead lift can be performed alone or in conjunction with other facial rejuvenation surgeries like a Face Lift and commonly, Eyelid Lift. Excess eyelid skin, droopy upper eyelids, and droopy eyebrows commonly occur in the same patient. It is not possible in most cases to achieve a good aesthetic and functional result unless all three problems are addressed. At your consultation, Dr. Aiello will discuss your goals and explain why in some cases, a Brow/Forehead lift may help to lift your sagging upper eye lid area better than removing the eye lid skin, or in most cases, why it may be needed in addition to eye lid surgery.
Will my scars be hidden?
The type of brow lift you undergo will be based on your facial features and aesthetic preferences. A brow lift usually involves incisions in the hair-bearing scalp, but sometimes incisions are made in the forehead and/or the upper eyelids. During your consultation, Dr. Aiello will assess your problem, considering your hairline and hair style preferences, and make a recommendation that will yield the least scarring and the best cosmetic results.
