Orange County Liposuction Techniques

The liposuction procedure is commonly performed on the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, cheeks and the neck area. There are a number of techniques that can be used to perform liposuction in Orange County, including tumescent liposuction, ultrasonic-assisted liposuction (UAL), and suction-assisted lipectomy. The tumescent technique requires a large volume of fluid (comprised of an anesthetic and saltwater solution) injected into the tissues prior to fat removal, helping to reduce bleeding and minimize the amount of anesthesia needed; the UAL method involves the use of ultrasonic waves to weaken or melt the fat prior to removal; suction-assisted lipectomy is a highly effective technique for providing an overall improved contour with minimal scarring.

Commonly, liposuction is performed along with complementary procedures, such as tummy tuck surgery (“abdominoplasty”) and/or breast augmentation (“augmentation mammaplasty”); this is often referred to as “Mommy Makeover Surgery” when performed on post-pregnancy patients.
